Paraffin waxes are mostly graded according to the\u00a0<em>oil content<\/em>, ranging from around 0.5% to above 20%. The change in oil content can lead to different physical and chemical behaviours of paraffin wax.<\/p><p>Paraffin\u00a0wax\u00a0is mostly found in two types of Fully-refined and Semi-refined, with a typical melting point between about 46 and 68\u00a0\u00b0C (115 and 154\u00a0\u00b0F), and a density of around 900\u00a0kg\/m<sup>3<\/sup>.\u00a0It is insoluble in water, but soluble in\u00a0ether,\u00a0benzene, and certain\u00a0esters. Paraffin is unaffected by most common chemical\u00a0reagents\u00a0but\u00a0burns\u00a0readily.
